Hello, lovely people. My name is King and at around 11–12 years young, I’ve figured out what makes a good life ~ kind people, leisurely sniffaris, car rides, and a soft bed. You may notice that a crown is missing from that list. I’m quite happy to be royalty without the overhead (ha-ha). Despite my grand name, I’m a quiet, gentle fellow with very modest demands. Love me. Include me. Cuddle me. Repeat as necessary…which, ideally, is often. I enjoy the company of other furry friends, large and small. In fact, when supper is served alongside companions my size, I politely wait until everyone else has finished before helping myself. Apparently, nobody has explained that kings usually get served first, so a peaceful spot to enjoy my own dinner would be lovely. I walk beautifully on leash and love a ride in the car. My energy level is low, so if your idea of a wonderful outing involves a gentle stroll followed by some serious relaxation, we should compare calendars. I suspect we’re both free after our nap. I take heart medication twice a day to help keep my heart supported. Otherwise, I’m reported to be in good shape. My Golden Rescue friends will share my ultrasound information and explain my ongoing care to anyone hoping to welcome me home. People who know me call me an angel. I wouldn’t dream of arguing; however, even angels need somewhere soft to land. My name may be King, but all I want to rule is a little corner of your heart.
