Hello folks! Yogi here…although my friends call me Yogi Bear…naturally. I am approximately 1.5 years old and considerably more interested in stealing hearts than picnic baskets. I’m a sweet, happy, affectionate boy who has never met a person or four-legged friend I didn’t love. I’m confident in new situations, listen well, enjoy a spirited game of fetch, and believe wrestling with my foster brother is one of life’s greatest pleasures. When playtime is over, I’m equally happy snuggling on the couch…because even bears need their beauty sleep. Now, I may be “smarter than the average bear”; however, my leash manners are decidedly below average. I pull ~ a lot! I can also jump up when excitement gets the better of me, occasionally get a little grabby with treats, and have conducted one or two unauthorized inspections of the kitchen counter. I’ll need a family willing to continue my training with patience, consistency, and a harness. I’ll need a family that can give me plenty of exercise and playtime. A secure yard is important because an open door can look suspiciously like an invitation to adventure. I would love someone who is home more often than not and, best of all, a young or young-at-heart four-legged sibling who enjoys a good wrestle. Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so that remains one of life’s great mysteries. So, right now, cats and young children should be out of the equation. I arrived a little skinny and still need to gain some weight and muscle. What I certainly don’t need to gain is sweetness. Apparently, I’m already overflowing with it. So, if you have room in your home for a happy young bear with a big heart, busy paws, and a lifetime of love to give, I’m ready to come out of the woods. I’m not searching for the perfect picnic basket…I’m searching for my perfect family.
