Hi everyone…my name is Rico and I’m a 3.5-year-old boy with movie-star good looks, a soft cuddly coat, and what my foster family calls a “heart of gold.” Personally, I just think I’m a professional snuggler with advanced bunny-detection skills. I’m calm, polite, easy-going, and very loving. I rarely bark, loud noises don’t bother me, and thunder? Pfft…no big deal. I’m much more interested in hanging out with my people, going for adventures, and perfecting my frisbee-catching career. I LOVE the car too, so if you say “wanna go for a ride?” I’m already halfway to the car. Now, I should probably mention one tiny little thing…if I see a bunny or squirrel while out on a walk, my inner wildlife patrol officer takes over and suddenly I forget all about things like walking nicely as I lose my ears. My foster mom says I still need some leash work, but they also think my recall could eventually become really good. For now, though, I definitely need a fenced yard because when the Bunny Olympics begin, all bets are off. I’m very affectionate and happiest when I’m close to my humans. I can get a little anxious when left alone, so I’d love a family where someone is home more often than not. I’m looking to be a true companion and best friend. I’m good with most dogs, although after being attacked by another dog and needing a week to recover, I can sometimes be a little reactive if another dog isn’t friendly first. Honestly, I think that’s pretty understandable. The good news is I was an excellent patient while recovering ~ calm, cooperative, and super easy to give medications to. Gold star for me. What I really want is an active family who will include me in their adventures ~ walks, hikes, jogs, road trips, backyard frisbee tournaments…you know…all the good stuff. In return, I promise endless cuddles, loyal companionship, lots of laughs, and a very loving shadow who will happily stick by your side through life’s adventures. So…what do you think? Could you be my person?
