Hello, I’m Jilly and I’m around 7 years old. After a bit of a rough start, I’ve discovered that life can be pretty wonderful. These days, my tail is usually wagging and my favourite place is wherever my people happen to be. I’m a calm, clever girl who enjoys leisurely walks, car rides, and simply hanging out. I’m not particularly interested in toys or fetching…why chase something a human is only going to throw away again? Give me a good bone and a comfy spot beside you and I’m perfectly content. I’m still polishing my leash manners, especially when dogs cross my path. I may pull or lunge, but it turns out I’m not saying “go away” ~ I’m just desperate to say hello! I’m friendly with other dogs and would love a medium to large-sized fur brother or sister to share my home. I’d be happiest in a quiet home with someone around most of the time and a family willing to continue helping me contain my enthusiasm on walks. Cats, however, are an absolute no. I have a strong prey drive and have made my feelings on that subject quite clear. So, a fenced yard would be important to have. I’m also very fond of food and have been known to open cupboard doors when left alone. I don’t destroy anything…I’m merely checking the inventory. What I really want is wonderfully simple ~ a peaceful home, gentle walks, and someone whose footsteps I can follow from room to room. I’ve already learned that life can change. Now I’m waiting for the person who will make sure I never have to wonder where I belong again.
