Hi, I’m Willy and I’m around 7 years old. Willy make you smile? Willy get muddy? Willy want the best spot on the couch? I think we all know the answers. I’m a boy who appreciates balance ~ a lovely walk, a splash in the water, some toy time…and then a well-earned rest (preferably somewhere comfortable beside you). Once we get to know each other, I’m very happy to add cuddles and belly rubs to our schedule. I have a cheeky streak and occasionally offer my own interpretation of the rules; however, I’ve been learning that listening to my people has its advantages. I know several commands and settle nicely after ordinary daily activity. You won’t need to run a marathon to keep me happy. There is something important you need to know. I guard food and certain prized possessions and there is a reported bite in my past. I’ve also attempted to bite when someone tries to take something away from me. I’ve made substantial progress in foster care; however, I still need experienced adults who will give me space at meals, leave my valued chews undisturbed, and continue the routines that help me feel secure. Golden Rescue will discuss my history and care needs fully. I enjoy familiar canine company, so a compatible, mature companion could be lovely…with careful introductions and separate meals. We don’t yet know how I feel about cats. I’ve managed time without my people while with familiar canine friends so being entirely alone in a new home is something we would need to introduce gradually. Thunderstorms frighten me, especially lightning. A familiar person nearby often helps. My wish list is quite simple: patience, clear routines, everyday adventures, and time to build trust.
