Hi…I’m Rocky and I’m around 8 years old. I’m what you might call a velcro Golden. If you’re sitting down, I’ll probably be beside you. If you’re walking into another room, I’ll happily come too. Need someone to supervise you while you make coffee? I’m your boy. Looking for a loyal best friend? I’ve practically got my application filled out already. My foster mom says that, aside from one rather important detail, I’m pretty much perfect. I’ll take that as a compliment. I’m affectionate, funny, eager to please, and happiest when life is simple: a comfy bed, a good walk, a few belly rubs, and my favourite humans close by. I’m the kind of boy who doesn’t just live with my family…I become part of everything you do. Now, let’s talk about the elephant…er…Golden…in the room. I have a very small social circle. Actually, it’s so exclusive that I’d really prefer it didn’t include any other pets. When I see another dog on a walk, I make my opinion known. I pull, bark, and growl because I’d very much like to go over and tell them exactly what I think. Introductions with dogs haven’t gone well either, so Golden Rescue is looking for a home where I’ll be the one and only. The good news? I’m perfectly happy with that arrangement. I don’t dream of the dog park or want a pack of canine buddies. I’d much rather spend my time with humans. If you’re happy to skip the neighbourhood meet-and-greets and enjoy quieter walks together, we’ll make an excellent team. And here’s the thing…once other dogs are taken out of the equation, there’s an awful lot to love. I’m loyal. I’m devoted. I love being with my family. I form deep bonds and I’ll happily make you the centre of my world. Golden Rescue isn’t looking for just any home for me. They’re looking for MY home…where my family understands my quirks, appreciates all the wonderful things about me, and is happy to help me navigate the things I find difficult. I just need one family who will love me exactly as I am. And, if you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants to be your best friend, not the neighbourhood social director, I just may be your boy!
