Hi everybody, my name is Abby and I’m a 10-year-old girl. When I first met the good people at GR, I was sad, my fur was matted, and I had a swollen belly. Yes, I was a bit of a mess. It didn’t take me long, with the help of my amazing foster family, to shed that gloom, get my fur coiffed, and sort out my swollen belly. I am such a happy girl now and I am so grateful to be given this second chance. I’m not sure what happened in my previous life but now my true personality is shining through. I love humans. I love other dogs and I particularly LOVE cats. My lovely foster mom actually calls me ‘perfect’. Ah shucks…that’s embarrassing! I do try to please but I didn’t know I was that good. Mind you, at my age I’ve certainly been around the block, so I am very familiar with your human ways and how to fit in. I am gentle with my treats. You can touch me anywhere. Loud noises don’t bother me. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me but I would prefer someone around more often than not. I’m not a big barker. I’m a star on the leash…and you don’t hear that too often! I love doing zoomies in the back yard but I am also an Olympic cuddler on the couch. Here’s what my foster mom says about me: “Abby loves her people. She is perfect. She will follow you anywhere and is very easy to have around. She is a sweetheart and a giant teddy bear.” Abby the Teddy Bear…that has a nice ring to it.
