Hi…I’m Archie. Before we get started, I’d like to clear up one small misunderstanding. I look innocent. Apparently…I’m not always. You see, I’m young…just a year old. Which means I sometimes think before I…well…actually, I usually don’t think first. If something looks interesting, I investigate it. If something looks chewable…you can probably guess where this is going. The good news? I’ve spent the last two months learning that life is a whole lot easier when someone explains the rules. Turns out that structure is actually pretty great. I like knowing what’s expected of me and I’m trying very hard to get it right. I love people. I love other dogs. I love hiking, swimming, toys, adventures, and, after a busy day, stretching out beside you on the couch. I’m playful, affectionate, eager to please, and always ready to learn something new. Now let’s talk about what I need (not because I’m difficult…because I deserve to succeed). I’m looking for someone who understands young dogs ~ someone calm, confident, and consistent who will continue teaching me good manners instead of expecting me to already know them. I’ll need structure, guidance, and clear boundaries and I promise I’m paying attention. My foster dad says that I don’t need to be worn out nearly as much as I need to be taught how to live successfully with people. I think he’s onto something. So, if you’re looking for a perfect Golden, keep scrolling. I’m not looking for someone to keep up with me. I need someone to teach me.
