Hi everyone! My name is Billie and I’m a one-year-old girl who’s mostly Golden Retriever…with what appears to be a dash of Husky thrown in for extra sparkle, extra energy, and perhaps a touch of mischief. When I first arrived at Golden Rescue, let’s just say I was a bit of a fixer-upper. I needed grooming, I didn’t know my name, I wasn’t house-trained, I had no idea how to walk nicely on a leash, and the whole car thing was very confusing. My wonderful foster family basically got the instruction manual with all the pages missing. Here’s the good news…I’ve been making amazing progress. I know my name now, I’ve learned lots of house manners, and I’m getting much better on leash walks. Mind you, if I spot a person or dog I’d like to meet, my enthusiasm can still take over and I might pull a little. What can I say…I just love making new friends! The car and I are still negotiating our relationship. I’m getting more comfortable every day, but I still appreciate a helping paw getting in. My foster family says I’m incredibly smart and they’re probably right (I mean, I did learn all this stuff pretty quickly). With continued training, patience, and consistency, I’ll blossom into an amazing companion. Now, let’s talk about energy. I come with plenty of it! I’m young, athletic, and always ready for the next adventure. An active family with a large, secure yard would be my dream come true. Another playful dog would be the icing on the biscuit because I absolutely love canine companionship. Speaking of athleticism, I’ve discovered that my legs are surprisingly spring-loaded. Let’s just say if there were an Olympic event for enthusiastic jumping, I’d be a strong contender. That’s why a secure yard is a must. My foster family describes me as loving, sweet, cuddly, and smart. Personally, I think that’s a pretty impressive résumé. I adore people, love other dogs, and greet every day as if it’s the best day ever. So, if you’re looking for a fun-loving adventure partner with a big heart, a bright mind, and enough enthusiasm to keep life interesting, I just might be your girl.
