Hello, everyone. My name is Delaney and I’m a 2-year-old female. Sadly, my last home wasn’t quite the right fit. I adored their calm, easygoing Golden; however, their more spirited canine and I simply couldn’t find a peaceful way to live together. My family loved me dearly, and returning me broke their hearts. They made the very difficult…and very loving decision to keep everyone safe. So, let me tell you who I really am. I LOVE people ~ adults, children, complete strangers…I’m always delighted to meet someone new. I’m exceptionally gentle and can be touched anywhere: ears, teeth, paws, between my toes and, thanks to one curious two-year-old, apparently even inside my nose. I never flinched. I’m also surprisingly well-mannered around food. I don’t counter surf, raid the coffee table or snatch treats from your hand. Sometimes I even leave a few pieces of kibble behind, which may disqualify me from official Golden status pending further investigation. I’m smart, affectionate, and quick to learn a family’s routines. I rarely bark, love being brushed, and am a champion car passenger. I enjoy walks, hikes, backyard play, and a good, hard chew toy. I’m also an expert cuddler…a skill I take extremely seriously. A few Delaney details: I don’t like rain and thunderstorms send me looking for the nearest bed to hide under. I’m indifferent to cats and can happily share my life with a calm canine friend. Growling, aggression or overly intense behaviour from another dog makes me uncomfortable, so any fur sibling must be genuinely easygoing. I would also be very happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. My house training has come a long way, although I rarely bark or cry when I need to go out, so you’ll need to watch me closely until we establish our routine. A fenced yard, patience, and someone home most of the time would help me continue becoming the wonderful companion everyone knows I can be. Sometimes love means letting go, even when it breaks your heart. I’m hoping the next kind of love is forever.
