Happy spring everyone. This is 6-year-old Luna here. When I first met the wonderful caring people at GR, I was really nervous and fearful. I didn’t know what was going on until my amazing foster mom made me realize I was safe and loved. Today, I am so much better. In fact, I have now been described as a sweet, super-cuddly girl who loves her people. Also, I’m told I’m whip-smart and athletic…which I happen to believe is true. I love to play with my favourite humans. Since coming into GR, I’ve come a long way in learning to be calm around other dogs. And if they give me space, I can ignore them. I have learned many new skills, like heel and leash walking. I can find things using my nose. For example, I can find the catnip-scented toy amidst a room full of boxes ~ I’m a true example of the ‘nose knows’ (tee-hee). And if you call out ‘touch!’ and hold out your hand, I’ll come running and boop it…only costs you one kibble. Did I mention I will work for food? Here’s what my foster mom says about me: “Luna is a brave soul who has had the courage to make so many changes within herself to be able to walk through the neighbourhood coexisting with other dogs. She still requires management (and she’ll likely never be an off-leash or dog-park girl); however, with ongoing love and training, she’ll continue to improve and gain confidence”.
