Hi everybody, my name is Dallas and I’m an 11-year-old-girl. When I first came into the GR program, I was a pretty sad mess. I was dirty, dishevelled, anxious, overweight, and sick with a thing called pyometra. Today, thanks to my amazing foster family I am clean, happy, healthy, and super cuddly…and I am losing weight. I do need special food and I get regular injections so I am a bit more expensive than your average dog ~ I’m sorry about that! I do love my foster family and am one grateful lucky girl. I have learned a lot in my time with all the wonderful GR folks, but I still need to understand how to deal with other dogs. I’m not aggressive with them, I just don’t know what to do, so my foster mom says I need more exposure and more socialization with my canine friends and this will take a bit of patience on your behalf. In the meantime, don’t worry too much because I’m a lover not a fighter. I love to play and have pretty good energy for my age. I’m not a big barker. You can leave me alone if you have to go out without me. You can touch me anywhere and I’m gentle with my treats as long as you remind me by using the ‘gentle‘ command. Here’s how my foster mom describes me: “Dallas is the sweetest, most beautiful girl. She is very special and will change your life if you let her into yours.” Wow…thank you…you certainly changed my life. So, if you’re looking for a beautiful, affectionate older gal, ready to fill your life with quiet joy and an insane amount of cuddles, I’m your girl.
