My name is Maggie. For five years, my world was dark and small. I lived in a basement, learned to stay quiet, and learned not to trust ~ especially women. I had puppies that were taken away, over and over, until I stopped expecting anything good. Then I came here. The light was too bright and the space felt too big. For the first three days, I hid under the bed, positive I didn’t belong here. But no one forced me out. They waited. Now I live on a big property by a lake with open fields and fresh air. I learned how to run and sniff the grass. My new family is gentle and patient. I learned I was safe and I sleep without fear now. Most importantly, I am loved and I belong. I am home!
