Hi…I’m Bailey and I’m a 3.5-year-old Golden boy with a big personality, a soft heart, and a firm belief that no swim is complete without a celebratory roll in the mud. My foster affectionately calls me a ‘drama queen’ ~ I prefer ‘emotionally expressive’. I’m affectionate, playful, and always ready for an adventure. I love swimming, car rides, toys, compatible canine friends, and a good couch flop when the fun is over. I settle nicely once I understand the routine. Under all that enthusiasm, I’m sensitive. I need a calm, experienced person who will give me clear boundaries, predictable routines, and time to build trust. I can get over-excited around food, so my meals must be quiet and protected, with no other animals approaching. Handling and grooming also need to happen gradually. Once I trust you, I’ll be much more comfortable. I’m strong, and while my leash manners have improved tremendously, those skills may take time to transfer to someone new. Busy, unpredictable walks aren’t my best starting point. A secure yard would be wonderful and an active, experienced adult home would suit me beautifully. A compatible canine companion may be possible with careful introductions; however, cats and small pets are not for me. I may arrive with muddy paws and a few chapters still to be written. Give me time to trust you and I’ll give you my whole Golden heart.
