Hi everybody, my name is Jasper and I’m a 2-year-old boy. When I arrived in Golden Rescue’s arms, I was a mess ~ fearful, timid, anxious, and stressed. I have come a long way since then thanks to my amazing foster family; however, I’m still figuring some things out. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do love my life and I have been described as affectionate and sweet (ah shucks) and spend lots of time at my foster’s feet. I love my toys and bring them to my foster parents for play. I’m eager for my two walks each day…sometimes I get three! I have guarding issues with some prized possessions and I’m getting better with other dogs as I get more confident every day. I just went on my first walk-date with the neighbour’s dog and had no issues. I do need more socialization with other dogs and strangers because I’m selective when I first meet them. These days, if I get too stressed, I go into my crate and that makes me feel better as I feel safe there…it’s my own private little sanctuary. I need my new family to continue my training since I have come so far already…but mostly to be patient with me (because whatever my issues, I did come by them honestly). I am getting the hang of things and I’m getting more comfortable every day. I can be left alone if you have to go out without me and the doc says I’m a healthy boy. Here’s what my foster family says about me: “Jasper was a fearful anxious boy; he has come out of his shell and we now see his goofy personality. His anxiety is definitely dissipating” (whatever that word means ha-ha). If you chose me, I promise to be a great companion. I am very anxious to be successful (actually I’m trying not to be anxious at all).
