Hi, everybody! My name is Norman, although my friends call me Norm. If you remember Cheers, you might feel compelled to shout “NORM” when I enter a room. That’s fine. A cookie would also be a lovely welcome. I’m a 3-year-old boy who loves swimming, hikes, balls, rope toys, and being included. If your plans involve water and a ball, I would like to cancel any other appointments. My calendar is mostly naps anyway. I’m friendly, curious and keen to learn. I’ve been working with a behaviourist and I’ve made good progress with his guidance. I enjoy sharing adventures with my person; however, I also need help switching from “What’s next?” to “Time to relax.” A predictable routine, regular activity, and quiet downtime help me find that balance. There’s something important you should know ~ I was returned after a bite incident in my previous home. Golden Rescue will discuss that history fully with anyone considering adopting me. My behaviourist has seen no aggression toward people during my time with him; however, my progress doesn’t mean I can move into a new home and instantly have everything figured out. We’ll need time to build our own trust and understanding. My ideal person is experienced, patient, and involved…someone who enjoys teaching as much as playing. A calm household with clear routines would suit me well. I’m sensitive about close handling, particularly ear care and medication, so patience and a gradual approach are important. I can enjoy calm, compatible canine company. Pushy playmates and competition over toys can bring out my less charming side, so introductions and toy time need careful management. I’d also be happy being your one and only. I’m also looking for a home without children or cats. My leash manners still need practice, especially when an intriguing scent submits an urgent request for investigation. There’s plenty to love about me and there’s work still to do. I’m looking for someone who understands both and who will help my good habits grow. On Cheers, Norm had a place where everybody knew his name. I’m hoping for a place where someone knows me…and wants me to stay.
