Leyla #4373

Gender: female

Status: Adopted

After being adopted and returned and having moved through several foster families, I expected that Leyla would have some difficulty settling in. That was not the case. From day one, she seemed to know that she was home. And she felt like home to me as well…she truly belonged here. I live and run our business from my farm, so Leyla has a lot of work to do. She is a greeter, makes sure the horses are fed and taken care of, and works in the office. She loves her car rides when we have to get supplies or drive to the mailbox. She loves hanging out in the barn with my retired mare, Majestosa. Leyla lays down in Majestosa’s stall and they munch on hay together. Majestosa doesn’t mind, even if she is technically stealing her food. In the evenings, she enjoys yoga with Ben, my cat, and in the summer, she enjoys lounging by the pool with me. Even though she ran hot when she arrived (hot enough to have a cooling pad sent with her), she now loves sleeping in front of the fireplace. It’s been nearly two years since my sister and I drove to meet her. She hopped into our car and we’ve never looked back.
