#4363 Jack
Gender: male
Jack is such a happy boy who loves everyone and every animal he encounters including squirrels. He has remarkable calm and positive energy that everyone gravitates to and recognizes. During our adventures, people ask to pet him or just start hugging and kissing him and he welcomes all of it. He is really loved by many and has so many friends and family who adore him. He brings us so much joy, love, and laughter and we have a very deep and special relationship with him. Jack is our life. He has demonstrated tremendous strength and courage in the face of adversity. After five months of being with us, Jack was diagnosed with lymphoma. We were devastated and distressed when we learned about the prognosis for this cancer but responded rapidly. We met with an amazing oncologist and his team who outlined a six-month care plan, which included chemotherapy. Following chemotherapy, he underwent surgery to repair a hernia. Our vet told us that he woke up from anesthesia smiling, playful, and ready to take on the day. His recovery went really well and it did not slow him down. Later in the summer, we found a lump on his right cheek. We had it tested and thankfully it was a benign tumor. The lump, which was originally the size of a pea, grew to the size of a lime in the course of 4-6 weeks. It was growing so quickly and starting to impact the functionality of his mouth. He underwent surgery to have it removed. The recovery for this surgery was more complicated as he had a scar from his ear to his lip. Despite all these procedures, surgeries, and chemotherapy, Jack has demonstrated resiliency and strength. He has been through so much and yet his spirit has never dampened. He enjoys life, love, food, his friends, and his stuffies. He is so affectionate, cuddly, and loves to be with us all the time. He has celebrity status in our neighborhood not just because he is absolutely gorgeous but because of who he is. Words cannot express how much we love him. Corny but true, we hit the jackpot. We will forever be grateful to Golden Rescue for saving Jack from the streets of Cairo and for allowing us to have and care for him.
We profoundly admire the dedication and hard work that you do to save the lives of these precious beings.
