Mitch #4265

Gender: male

Status: Adopted

Mitch came to us at a very skinny 40 lbs. He had some health issues including an infection from being neutered and testing positive for a couple of tick-borne diseases. He also developed a very bad skin allergy. With the help of a Golden Rescue veterinary clinic in Guelph, we were able to control these issues. After his first year with us, he was up to and has maintained a healthy weight of 80lbs. He is a very happy boy but suffers from separation anxiety. We have had to adjust our lifestyle so that one of us is always at home and he is never by himself. Luckily, we have found a doggy daycare where he goes once a week to play with his buddies. We take advantage of that day to get things done. When you rescue a dog, which we have done a few times before, you never know what they will be like but hope for the best. With Mitch, we have been very lucky. He loves all people, including our grandchildren. He loves other dogs which is good as he has a lot of friends both at home and at our place up north in the summer. He loves daily walks, our big backyard for playing, car rides, boat rides, swimming, and to our surprise, he is also comfortable going for canoe rides. Mitch has been a great addition to our home and is a great, affectionate companion.
