#3130 Archie
Gender: male
It’s pretty difficult to come up with the right words to describe what a special, amazing, wonderful boy Archie is. He is our first rescue and watching his transformation has been an utterly magical journey. I believe Archie has an inherently timid/shy personality, but when the moment is right or when he is feeling particularly comfortable, he is the silliest goof I have ever met. Despite having problems with his back legs (they don’t move well ~ we suspect he was hit by a car or suffered some other traumatic injury early in life), he LOVES his walks. When he hears the jingle of his collar, he inevitably comes bounding to the door, barking, doing pirouettes, and throwing his body into the ottoman, often moving it all the way across the room. It is hilarious and he reminds me of a football player at practice pushing the dummies across the field. After these dramatic outbursts, he walks at approximately the pace of a snail but he never fails to get totally over the top excited when it is time to go. Archie loves all humans and is so kind and gentle with every animal he meets. He is still learning how to play. Sometimes he doesn’t know what to do with a group of playing dogs other than to bark; however, I’m sure his bark means “I don’t really know what to do but I’m so happy to be here with my pals…woo-hoo!” Everyone who meets Archie falls in love with him. He is pretty much a celebrity in our town and I could go on and on about how amazing he is.
