Marylin and her husband rescued their first Golden from the SPCA. The experience was very rewarding and they fell in love with the breed. In time, Marilyn decided to look for further rescue activities and, during her online research, discovered Golden Rescue. Impressed with the website and overall professionalism, she decided to see how she could help. After their beloved Golden passed away, they felt that fostering might be the best way to fill the void in their life while helping other Goldens in need. Fortunately for GR, Marilyn has been an active superstar volunteer ever since. In under two years, she and her husband have fostered five Goldens and Marilyn continues to help in a number of other areas, including the care team. This is a labour of love for Marilyn as she loves hearing all the success stories GR adopters have experienced. If that wasn’t enough Marilyn also joined the Wishbone Lottery team and is now spearheading the DIY fundraising team. Marilyn loves being involved with Golden Rescue. This is what she says; “Since getting involved with Golden Rescue, I know I have made a difference in the lives of Goldens looking for a second chance and I have made new friends along the way. I cannot say enough about this amazing organization.” And we can’t say enough about you, Marilyn. Your passion, professionalism, and compassion make you a joy to work with.
