Adoption Alert ~ Sunny #2621 - Adoption Pending

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain,

Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain,

Now my dark days are gone and the bright days are here,

My sunny one shines so sincere,

Sunny one so true, I love you.

Hello everyone!  This is the song my amazing foster mom sings to me every morning when I wake up.  Isn’t it absolutely lovely?  Let me introduce myself.  My name, as you might have guessed, is Sunny and I’m a seven-month-old pup.  In fact, I think I’m the luckiest pup in the whole world.  You see, I have some health problems and my doc called GR to see if they would take me into their program and they did.  Wow!!!  Everyone has been so kind to me and yes, I have some imperfections but the people at Golden Rescue don’t care about those ~ they really care about me!!!  First, I have cataracts so my vision is bad.  I may go totally blind in time but I don’t even notice as I’ve always been this way.  Hey, we all have sight, sound, and smell, right?  So as Meatloaf says “two out of three ain’t bad”.  I also have a thing called ‘diabetes’ and need injections twice daily along with my eye drops.  To top off all this bad news, I also have a heart murmur.  I know, I know…I’m soooo sorry to be causing such a problem.  I was born with this stuff and there’s nothing I can do about it and I understand it will take a special kind of golden angel to handle all these medical things.  On top of all that, the meds make me pee more often so I need to go out every two or three hours (but my foster has a doggy door and I know how to use it so the peeing isn’t an issue for me).  Boy this is sounding really bad but as George Washington said “I cannot tell a lie.”  Now on the plus side, I’m really well behaved and know most of my commands.  My foster mom says and I quote, “Sunny is smart, sweet, gentle, well behaved, happy, and soulful”.  Those are all good things, right?  She also thinks I would make a good therapy dog and I’d be happy to do that.  I’d love to help people as people have been so kind to me.  And speaking of people, I love them all, big or small and canines and felines are also wonderful.  I love to play.  I love my car rides.  I love cuddling.  I love my walkies and I’m getting pretty good on the leash.  I can be left alone in the house no problem as long as I can get out to pee every couple of hours.  Loud noises don’t bother me and you can touch me anywhere.  Well that’s my story ~ quite a mouthful, eh?  You know, as I look out of the window onto the backyard, another song came into my mind:

I see trees of green, red roses too

I see them bloom for me and you

And I think to myself…what a wonderful world…oh yea!
