Adoption Alert ~ Reed #2628 - Adoption Pending
Hi everyone my name is Reed and I’m just over a year old. My fabulous foster family has been SO good to me. I don’t know what I did to deserve such kindness but I am one lucky boy. They have described me as loyal, loving, affectionate, and playful. Those are certainly good things but it’s not hard for me to be that way with them because they are so wonderful. When I first met them, I was timid but I got over that quickly. However, I am still nervous of strangers. I can be afraid and growly when I meet a new person but once I know they wish me no harm I’m fine. I can be a bit like that with new dogs as well but over all I get along with dogs fine once I get to know them. I am told my recall is very good and my basic commands aren’t bad either. The big thing I still need to learn is the leash. I am a big puller but I am starting to learn it a bit and the thing called the ‘gentle leader’ seems to help. That and anxiety around meeting new people and new dogs are the things I really need to work on. I get nervous, barky, and growly in new situations and that can sometimes scare people; however, I am still young and I am going to need someone with patience while I learn to trust new people and new situations, which I’m sure I will once I realize I have a home and am loved. I am gentle with treats, I can be left alone if you have something to do that doesn’t involve me, and I’m fine with loud noises. As for cats? Well, I just ignore them. I love cuddling, car rides, and playing fetch. I also love checking out the kitchen counters so you might want to make sure you put food out of my way as I’m a pretty tall boy with a good boarding house reach (teehee).
Reed is currently being fostered in the Caledon, ON area. If you would like more information about Reed please call our hot-line toll free at 1-866-712-8444 or email and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
