Adoption Alert ~ Penny #2599 - Adoption in Progress

“Every time it rains, it rains pennies from heaven…”

Oops, hi everybody!  My name is Penny and I’ve loved that song ever since I heard my fantastic foster mom say, “Penny’s from heaven”.  Now I’m pretty sure I’m not but it sure was a lovely thing to say about me.  I actually don’t remember where I came from but when I met the good folks at Golden Rescue I was lost, not well, really hungry, and as skinny as a rail.  My nails were so long they hurt and I could barely walk.  Just look at me now!!!  I can’t believe I’ve changed so much ~ not bad for a five-year-old lost soul, eh?  Now, I’m heading for my next adventure…to find my forever family!  I’m a little nervous, of course, but I’m also excited.  Now let me tell you a bit about myself.  I love everyone I meet ~ human, canine, and feline.  I am a petite girl but I eat like a horse but that’s because I still need to put on some weight (I should be around 55 lbs, which I will be soon).  I do have a sensitive stomach but we’re working on a diet that hopefully will fix that.  I do know my commands but the leash thing is still a work-in-progress.  Recall is even more of a challenge…particularly when I get excited and I get excited a lot.  With my happy nature, I often act more like a pup than a grown-up.  Hey…forever young, right?  I definitely need a secure yard and I can’t run free unless it is in a secure dog park.  And by the way, I love to run and play!  I also love water ~ every puddle or pond is fair game.  Maybe that’s why I’m called “Mudbud” from time to time.  I am an affectionate, grateful, loyal girl and I crave attention and love.  I’m not a big barker and loud noises don’t bother me except for shouting ~ I don’t like that…maybe it reminds me of something bad from my past.  I can be left alone for short periods as long as I have a canine pal with me for company.  I’m not destructive on my own but I have had an accident or two which is very embarrassing for me.  Look, I have improved so much with the TLC from my foster family.  I have put on weight.  My fur is growing back beautifully.  I am learning to trust all over again.  I’ve had a fabulous manicure…but I passed on the nail polish (teehee).  All in all, I am a very lucky girl and my foster family want my forever family to lavish me with love, attention, and patience. Particularly patience because after all I’ve been through, a move might be difficult for me but I will eventually bounce back with my true golden spirit.  I came here with nothing, not even a name, and I will continue my journey with joy in my heart, gratitude in my eyes, my new favourite toy ‘Bumpy Chew’, and my wonderful new name Penny, or Penny’s From Heaven or Penny Peanut or Mudbud.  Come to think of it, no wonder my recall isn’t good…pick a name please (teehee)!
