Adoption Alert ~ Lucky # 2485 - Adopted!!

Hi everyone…my name is Lucky and I’m two years old.  I do have some issues but I have to tell you I think I’m the ‘Luck’iest Golden in the world.  You see, I came from Istanbul and my amazing foster family have been looking after me and teaching me all your Canadian ways.  Wow, I don’t know how I got picked from the streets amongst all the others, but however it happened I am one grateful boy.  I try to show my appreciation every day by being sweet, loyal, obedient, and loving. Everyone has been SO good to me in Canada considering my malady.  You see, something happened in Istanbul that affected my right leg so my mobility is hampered ~ in fact, I sometimes have to drag it along when I go for walks.  What’s worse is that I’m on medications that are expensive and hopefully they will help.  It costs about 200 bones a month plus another 150 to see the specialist every now and then.  I know, I know ~ that’s bad and, believe me, if I could get a job I would gladly help to pay for this but that won’t likely happen.  Also although we are hopeful the treatment will work there is no guarantee and in the end I might just have to live with the wonky leg.  I sure hope not but I am prepared for the worst.  Hey, I have some friends who only have three legs and they get along just fine so I am not complaining.  Even with my leg problem, I love my walks and can go for 20 minutes easy-peasy.  I am better on a path or on grass than the road or sidewalk as sometimes the hard surface can hurt my foot or nails.  On another subject, I’m not afraid of loud noises and if you leave me alone I will initially whine but then I just settle down.  I love everyone I meet ~ grown-ups, children, canines, and even felines.  As you can see from one of my photos, one of my best friends is a guinea pig, so I really do love and get along with everyone!  I am pretty good on the leash and am even getting the hang of ‘heel’.  I am gentle with treats and am not a crazy barker.  I have lots of energy although lately this medication zaps me a bit but we’re hoping this is temporary.  Well, I know this is a mouthful and I am fully aware that finding a family with the resources and the heart to take me in will be no mean feat.  It will take a special kind of Golden angel and if you are out there, I will do everything I possibly can to pay you back with love, loyalty, and gratitude.  You know what?  Even if I can’t find that special family, I still consider myself ‘lucky’ for getting to this wonderful country in the first place.  Thank you Golden Rescue.  You’ve already done so much for me so worry not.  You know, when I first came to Canada, I was called Leonard Cohen.  I liked that name as well.  So here’s a promise…if you adopt me, I promise to sing ‘Hallelujah’ every single day.
