Adoption Alert ~ Leroy #2548 - Adoption Pending

Just walk on by, wait on the corner,

I love you but we’re strangers when we meet…

Oh…howdy everyone!  I was just listening to my favourite song by Leroy Van Dyke.  You see my name is Leroy and I’ve always loved this song and Leroy Van Dyke is my favourite country singer.  And yes, we will be ‘strangers’ when we meet but I will definitely ‘love you’ forever so please don’t ‘walk on by’ (teehee).  You see, according to my amazing foster mom, I am ready to find my forever family.  Wow!!!  A little scary but exciting at the same time!  So, let me tell you a thing or two about myself.  I am a Golden but I have a feeling my mom was a Golden and my dad was a Lab…or the other way around.  I am a Golden in every way personality-wise but my hair is a little short as you can see in the photos.  I am also a bit of a contortionist.  See???  I can fit into any chair you let me up on.  I am nine years old and in good health, except my eyes are getting bad and I can’t see as well as I used to.  It sure doesn’t stop me from doing anything though and I still have lots of energy.  I love my walks, I love the dog park, and I love playing with people and other dogs.  I can be a little grumpy if I have a toy and someone else wants it but I’m learning that’s not cool.  Apart from that, I know my commands and I’m even pretty good on the leash.  I like the car but I bark a lot to begin with as I take in all the new sights and sounds but then I settle and just enjoy the ride.  I was hit by a car some years ago and broke my leg but it healed totally and I can run like the wind.  The only thing is I take some arthritis medicine to keep me nimble but really it’s no big deal.  My foster dad told someone the other day that I was smart, affectionate, and well mannered.  I’m pretty sure those are all good things.  Oh, by the way, loud noises don’t bother me and I’m fine to be left alone if you need to go and do chores.  I do get nervous around young children as I find they can be a bit unpredictable.  If I’m introduced to them properly, I’m fine but initially they make me nervous so it’s probably better if I’m not around children that are very young…sorry about that!  Well that’s about all that I can tell you about myself.  I really hope we can meet soon.
