Adoption Alert ~ Jake #2626 - Adopted!!
Hi everyone…my name is Jake and I’m seven years old. My fabulous foster family describe me as a lovely, affectionate, cuddly boy. Right back at you! I love life and still have tons of energy and can act like a puppy sometimes. I’m pretty good with my commands and I love people, kids, and other dogs. I do have two issues however. One is that I’m crazy about squirrels. If they’re around, I’m totally distracted…sort of like Sylvester with Tweety. The other one is that a raised hand makes me nervous. In fact, someone came at me once with a raised hand and I snapped at them. Something bad must have happened to me in my previous life. I don’t remember what it was but a raised hand definitely scares me. I am gentle with my treats. I love to play ball and I’m really good at fetch and return. I’m actually pretty good on the leash too unless I see a squirrel ~ then all bets are off! I can be left alone if you need to go out without me but I don’t like loud noises especially thunder. BTW, as I said, I do like other dogs but if they come at me aggressively I can get aggressive as well. I don’t really have an aggressive bone in my body but I will protect myself if provoked. Once I know I’m not in danger then dogs are totally cool with me. Same with people. That raised hand thing or other unexpected behaviour makes me nervous. Other than that, I’m pretty much the typical Golden mush-ball. I’m healthy except I don’t like my hind end touched ~ it’s a bit sensitive. The doc didn’t find anything but it just seems to be my sensitive area. Other than that, you can touch me anywhere. In fact, please touch me anywhere anytime. Well, I’d love to stay and talk but I just saw a squirrel so bye-bye!
