Adoption Alert ~ Jack #2539 - Adopted!!

Hi everyone my name is Jack and I’m around four years old (not that I’m super good at counting…haha).  Although I’m ‘mostly Golden’, the thought is that I might have a little Chow in me and I’m told I’m handsome!  I’ve been with my fosters for a while because I have some issues.  I am getting worried that no one wants me.  I’m very grateful to my amazing foster family but I know it’s time for me to move on.  I basically have two not-so-good things to tell you about (I might as well get them out of the way first).  One…I’m not good with other dogs (or cats).  Two…I bit someone once.  You see, they tried to take a toy out of my mouth and I’m not good with that.  If you want what I have just ask me to “drop it” and I will but if you try to take it from me I get mad.  I feel awful about this and it has really put me in a tough spot with other humans other than my foster family.  On the plus side, I am very loving and love people.  I am a big boy and not a barker.  In fact, I hardly ever bark.  That’s good, isn’t it?  I also have no problem being left alone ~ I know you have things to do that won’t always involve me.  If you are active I’m your boy.  I have tons of energy and love to run so a fenced-in yard would be #2 on my wish list (#1 is finding you, of course).  I’m even good on the leash!  I also love cuddling and being petted so I’m not only about exercise.  My foster dad says I’m a great boy but I need a calm family with a strong, consistent, patient, alpha in my pack and in my corner…someone who is loving but firm…someone who understands me and knows my foibles and loves me despite them…someone who is good and strong and has experience with big dogs.  And my foster dad will spend loads of time showing how I’ve been trained and will provide you with ongoing support.  I’m a fast learner and anxious to please so I’m sure we’d have an amazing life together.  If I could find the right family, I would pay you back with a mountain of love and loyalty.  Might you be that person?  I’m starting to worry I’ll never find you and the words of that Hank William’s song are starting to creep into my ear and I don’t like it:

“I’m nobody’s child, I’m nobody’s child

I’m like a flower just growing wild

There’s no mommy’s kisses and no daddy’s smile

Nobody wants me, I’m nobody’s child”
