Adoption Alert ~ Betty #2731 - Adoption in Progress
Hi everyone my name is Betty and I’m around nine years old. I came from the streets of Istanbul and somehow magically ended up here in Canada. To say the least, I am bewildered. Don’t get me wrong…I am very, very grateful. I just don’t know how I got here but “here” is certainly amazing. You see, I’m used to looking after myself. I’ve never had anybody to look after me and care for me the way the good folks at Golden Rescue are. Wow!!! I know I’m getting on a bit but I still have a lot to give. I do have a bit of arthritis but once I’m up and around, I move around just fine and stairs and cars are no problem for me. I am almost deaf, however, so I can’t hear what you’re saying to me. Mind you, it doesn’t matter much because I can’t speak English anyway (teehee). I can sense what you want and my amazing fosters are trying to teach me hand signals and I think I’ll get the hang of it given time. I saw these words on a piece of paper that were written to describe me: “We think Betty is a sweet, docile, gentle soul”. I don’t know what that means but I have a feeling it’s good. I don’t bark much. I am house trained and you can leave me alone if you have to go out without me ~ I am totally used to being alone anyway, right? I am getting used to the leash and I don’t pull too much. I enjoy my walks but I don’t need tons of exercise. I’m pretty happy just hanging out and smelling the roses…so my ideal home would be with a calm, quiet individual or couple who are home most of the time so they can shower sweet-little-old-me with love and attention. Pretty good wish list, eh? I just want to thank everyone involved in getting me off the streets. I am flabbergasted and feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I am also told I am about to go to find my forever family where someone is going to look after me for the rest of my life. I can’t believe this! What have I ever done to receive such special treatment? I’d like to thank all you amazing Canadians ~ you’re the best, eh?
