Adoption Alert ~ Bailey #2662 - Adoption in Progress
Hello ~ my name is Bailey and I’m a 10-year-old girl, although my fantastic foster mom says I sure act and look a lot younger. When I first met the lovely people at Golden Rescue, I was actually quite a mess. My fur was matted, I was skinny and smelly, my toenails were really long, and I was a Nervous-Nelly. Unfortunately, my owner got sick and I was left alone with minimal care. Today all that is behind me. I am healthy. My coat is all brushed and shiny. I have put on weight and my toenails look like I’ve just had a pedicure. In fact, I have been described as, and I quote, “sweet, gentle, loving, affectionate, friendly, and well behaved”. Wowser-bowser ~ I’m blushing! I am so happy in my new life. I love everyone I meet…big people, little people, canines, and felines. I love my walks, runs, swimming, playing, and car rides but what I love the most are baths and grooming. Maybe it’s because I was so embarrassed with how I looked when I first came into the program ~ I like to look my best, you know. I know my commands and I’m really good on the leash. I don’t counter surf or gulp down my food although I can be a little grabby when it comes to treats ~ not very lady like, I know. Loud noises don’t bother me, I don’t bark much, and you can leave me alone if you need to go out without me. I do have some stiffness that I take a thing called Metacam for but I’m pretty mobile for my age but if I overdo it on my runs or walks I can get stiff and have trouble with stairs but when I’m rested I’m fine. Now there is only one thing left I have to tell you. I can be a little stubborn if I’ve been out in the car and I’m not ready to come home yet. I can just lie down and dig my heels in about getting out. Not every time, mind you ~ just every now and then the ‘stubborn bad angel’ pays me a visit. Well, no one’s perfect, right?
