Available Adoptions

Golden Rescue is a 'rescue' organization. As such, we help Goldens who need a second chance and we believe we can responsibly rehome. Very often, we know very little about their history. Although we make every effort during our fostering process to assess the Goldens in our care, we cannot predict their behaviour in your home as some behaviours may present themselves later or there may be a ‘trigger’ we didn’t experience.

We also have all of our Goldens assessed by a qualified veterinarian and all conditions that are discovered are treated and disclosed before the Golden goes up for adoption; however, conditions could develop later that were not discovered by the vet at the time of examination. It costs an average of $1,700 to put one Golden through our program. The adoption fee for Goldens rescued within Ontario and Quebec is $500.  The adoption fee for Goldens rescued from countries outside of Canada is $800.  These fees help us tremendously to defer the ever-increasing cost of care and transportation.

Responsible pet ownership can be an expensive proposition and we urge you to consider the potential ongoing costs of owning a dog before making the decision to adopt.

At the present time our Goldens are being fostered in Ontario and occasionally in Quebec. During the adoption process a home visit needs to be arranged with your family and you must agree to come and visit the dog at his/her foster home. If the match is a good one, you'll need to arrange appropriate transportation to bring the dog home with you.

Adoption Alert ~ Jesse #2478 - Adoption Pending

Hi everyone my name is Jesse and I’m seven years old. I’m told I’m a calm, cool, good-natured boy who would fit into any family well and I think that’s true. I sure do love my foster family right now and they are SO good to me.

Adoption Alert ~ Harvey #2483 - Adoption in Progress

Hi everyone...my name is Harvey, the miracle boy. Why am I called ‘the miracle boy’ you ask? Well, it’s a long story. You see I’m 10 years old and a while ago I was diagnosed as having cancer. It was so bad I had to have an operation and the doc said my days were numbered. I was ready for it. I had had a good life and hey, when your number is up, your number is up. Well, I guess my number wasn’t up

Adoption Alert ~ Aidan #2550 & Aisling #2551 - Adoption in Progress

Hi, my name is Aidan and this is my partner-in-crime, Aisling. I am writing this because Aisling is a bit of a hair brain and can't sit still long enough to do much of anything. We have been in Canada for two weeks, we are both around two years old, and there are two of us! We are not brother and sister but we are bonded.

Adoption Alert ~ Leroy #2548 - Adoption Pending

Just walk on by, wait on the corner, I love you but we’re strangers when we meet… Oh…howdy everyone! I was just listening to my favourite song by Leroy Van Dyke. You see my name is Leroy and I’ve always loved this song and Leroy Van Dyke is my favourite country singer.

Adoption Alert ~ Lucky # 2485 - Adopted!!

Hi everyone…my name is Lucky and I’m two years old. I do have some issues but I have to tell you I think I’m the ‘Luck’iest Golden in the world. You see, I came from Istanbul and my amazing foster family have been looking after me and teaching me all your Canadian ways.

Adoption Alert ~ Jack #2564 - Adopted!!

Hi everyone…my name is Jack and I’m just over a year old. Now you would think by now I would have grown out of my puppy phase but I actually feel and act like I’m only six months old. If you like pups, that could be a good thing, right?
